And The Drum Beat Goes Like This

So, I have a blog now.

I've been putting off creating a blog because I didn't think I really had anything to say that wasn't already being said.  Though,  what I really thought was, I have nothing worth saying.  Also, I'm not a very good writer. I tend to use a lot of commas, and I use either very short or very long run on sentences.  Most of the time I am grammatically incorrect and make no sense at all.  So I figure, who the heck would want to read that?  Excuses, excuses.  If it ends up being no-one, then that's fine, I decided.  I'm doing it anyway.
I need this blog to get things out of my head.  Is it really a conversation if it is one-sided and no one is listening?  Sure.  I'm listening.  It's only insane if I talk back.

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle my daily frustrations, successes, happinesses, sadnesses, etc, etc. regarding my attempts to start a home-based craft business.  I want to live life on my terms, which means, making a living as a creative person.  I know there are thousands of people out there doing the same thing, or at least attempting it.  To diferentiate myself from the crowd and to truly be succesful will no mean feat.  Will I be happy just doing what I love to do?  Or will I need to support myself doing it?  If I'm just doing it, it's a hobby. If I'm making a living, it's my career.  I think that's the difference and the route I want to take.

So, I'm hearing the beat of my drum.  And I'm following it.  You can follow along if you like.

  4. Jansie, your blog will be what ever you need it to be. And they morph all the time - mine was really just a record of what was going on in my life. Then it was a great motivator to get projects finished and to improve my photos. Next, who knows!? Best of luck with your new business - I would love to hear about your trials, tribulations and especially your successes!
